Charis Center offers Professional Counseling for children, teens, adults, couples, and families by ten licensed counselors and one intern. Appointments are made by calling (941) 378-1549 and you can be assured of confidentiality. As a non-profit organization, fees are reasonable and a Caring Fund discount is available for those who do not have insurance and/or Medicare. Services are provided to all persons regardless of religious affiliation; Christian counseling and Spiritual Direction is available for clients who want faith issues included. The location of Charis Center is at 4041 Bahia Vista Street, between Beneva and McIntosh, in Sarasota, FL.
In addition to counseling, Charis Center sponsors the Monday Night Overcomers of Sarasota support group for adults that meets every Monday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. except Labor Day and Memorial Day. There is no charge to attend the Overcomers meetings, which include Christian 12-Step support groups dealing with issues such as anger, relationships, divorce, codependency, and substance abuse.
Charis Center also offers Family Life Education through classes on topics such as parenting, a marriage program, and setting healthy boundaries. A library of resources including large sections on parenting, marriage/relationships, and self-esteem is open to the public.
